Diplomacy in D.C.

J.F.K. and his advisors eventually decided on a military blockade of the island of Cuba, resulting in the use  of debate and diplomacy for resolution. This option kept Berlin and the alliance safe while keeping America off of Cuba's shores.

Messages from Moscow

After Khrushchev met with his generals, they decided that it would be best that they would remove the missiles to prevent nuclear war. Khrushchev messaged J.F.K. to tell him that he would remove the missiles within 30 days. Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the U.S.S.R. (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), fell from power just two years later because people viewed the Cuban Missile Crisis as a failure for the U.S.S.R. and they also believed he underestimated the West. During all this, they fell short on their food supply due to struggling negotiations with China.
